“Thank you so much,” said Ieyasu warmly. He leaned on Motochika as they walked, “Really, it… means so much to me that you’re willing to…”

He supposed he should stop before he put his foot in his mouth. Instead, he worked the gum in his mouth into a flat shape and tried blowing a bubble like Motochika had. No luck; he only succeeded in making a pitchless whistling sound. He’d never learned how to do it properly, though he’d also never really bothered asking. When he was little he’d blown through his lips and pretended that he was making a bubble, but definitely not when anyone was around.

“Not much farther, right?” he asked, trying to fill the slightly awkward silence.

When he felt that Ieyasu’s weight was on him, Motochika swallowed deep, his Adam’s apple bobbed as he did so. “That’s fine, although I can’t see why you want to move in with me so badly,” He said. “N-no, I didn’t mean it in a bad way. I mean, I don’t think I’m the type of person who someone wants for their ‘flatmate’. I’m so messy and naggy and all that.”

Motochika kept on walking, keeping their hands and bodies close together. At that point, he didn’t even care if people eyed him oddly. Because, as the saying goes ‘when you fall in love, the world is just the possession of the two of you’.

“Yeah, I’m pretty sure.” Motochika retorted, looking around. “Ah! There!” He pointed at a beige-coloured building which could be seen from the distance. “Not that far away, isn’t it?”
